David McDonald Yawn is a business writer and editor whose career has spanned three decades. He has worked professionally at the Memphis Business Journal, FedEx and International Paper headquarters, Baker Donelson law firm and at other establishments over the course of his career. In addition, David has edited 12 published book of others and has served as commissioned author for six published books, chiefly biographies and institutional history volumes.
He has worked extensively to chronicle developments and trends in transportation, distribution, logistics, commercial real estate and transatlantic business over the years and is a recipient of numerous national communications industry awards.
Darrell Uselton is currently president of Corporate Training Solutions, an employee development company in Memphis, TN. At CTS he provides management and sales training, curriculum development, including technical and leadership training classes to area businesses and industry. Darrell also conducts personal development seminars in conflict resolution, team-building, communication, business ethics, and change management.
He previously served as corporate training manager for Barnhart Crane and has provided custom training programs for Thomas & Betts, International Paper, U.S. District Courts, City of Memphis and Shelby County Governments, Con Agra Foods and KTG (Kruger). He was also employed with The University of Memphis Center for Research in Educational Policy and is an adjunct professor at The University of Memphis.
Darrell is also an author of biographies of accomplished professionals who want to share their personal and business legacies with others. His recent books and articles include, Your Plan for Personal Success, (2008); From The Ground Up: A Lifelong Journey in Reinventing Yourself, co-author (2010); The Book of Road Tested Training Activities, Elaine Biech, editor (2011); How to Build an Effective Training Department, HR Professionals of Memphis, (2012); Spiritual Networking: Father Don Mowery and the History of Youth Service, co-author (in-press 2013).
Darrell received his BA and MA degrees from the University of Memphis and is a graduate of the Phi Theta Kappa International Leadership Faculty Certification program. He is also a Certified Leadership Instructor for the International Business Training Association (IBTA), and has earned the DiSC© Trainer Certification.
